Alex Fact: Alex loves discovering hole-in-the-wall coffee shops.

Alex Cinta is a San Antonio native who grew up on the Northwest side of San Antonio. In elementary school she joined her school’s strings program and in middle school graduated to the orchestra program, having the privilege to learn the violin classically. Through this classical development Alex was fortunately introduced to the San Antonio Mariachi Academy (SAMA), directed by Cirilo and Angela Campos, and fell in love with playing and performing mariachi music. This experience helped Alex make close connections with peers and she soon started gigging in a youth mariachi group named Los Potrillos de San Antonio. She quickly gained experience necessary to have the privilege and honor of joining Mariachi Las Alteñas. Alex joined Las Alteñas during her second semester of nursing school. Through this, Alex aspires to be a traveling NICU nurse before settling down in life. Alex loves all of her musical colleagues and is very fortunate to have Valerie Vargas and Angie Campos as role models in the continuation of the #Poderosa movement!
