Dia de los Muertos

The City of San Antonio World Heritage Office and its partners will celebrate the Day of the Dead with its seventh annual, “Día de los Muertos: Celebrando las Misiones,” on Saturday, November 2, 2024. The event will include with a procession and dance at Mission Marquee Plaza, 3100 Roosevelt Ave.

“Día de los Muertos: Celebrando las Misiones” will honor the legacy of the descendants of San Antonio’s historic Missions and engage the nearby community and several generations of family members who will share their family histories and memories with activities the entire community can witness and take part in.  The event is free and open to the public.

Mariachi Las Alteñas will bring the house down with a FREE opening performance at this year's Día de Los Muertos celebration MUERTOSFEST, an epic show lof love for life, culture, and heritage in remembrance of our loved ones. Expect an unforgettable performance filled with the vibrant melodies of mariachi, honoring the rich traditions of Día de los Muertos.

Bring your family and friends, dress in your best Catrina outfits, and let’s celebrate together! Don’t miss this beautiful blend of music, art, and culture.

This two-day event is free and open to the public, bringing together traditional art and culture with live music and entertainment to celebrate the Day of the Dead. Festivities include live music, original artwork, a dance, drum and puppet procession, live poetry, and the largest open altar exhibition in San Antonio. Food and beverage vendors available.
