Giselle Fact: She knows more SpongeBob quotes than you.
Giselle Vega was born and raised in San Antonio. Music has been a part of her life for as long as she can remember, both at home and in school. Her earliest exposure came from her grandfather, an incredible trumpeter in San Antonio. She constantly heard him practicing or performing at school functions, leaving a lasting impression on her.
Giselle began mariachi in second grade at Stephen F. Austin Academy, where she learned to sing and play instruments for concerts and competitions across Texas, earning multiple awards. Her passion continued through high school at Fox Tech, where she competed in UIL and participated in performances.
At 18, Giselle started working professionally in mariachi and developed an even greater appreciation for the art. Moving to Dallas at 22 allowed her to experience a wealth of musical talent while also receiving vocal training. Throughout her journey, she has competed as a soloist, winning first place in Fort Worth as La Estrella de La Gran Plaza 2023, and has traveled across the United States sharing this music.
Giselle is always eager to grow as an artist and looks forward to learning from the women she looked up to as a child.
